Have you ever experienced a sound bath? They are amazing! 

Our Sound baths are run on the last Friday of the month but book early to avoid disappointment.  Let the vibration of sound restore your body and bring it back to balance.

Before you read any further on the amazing benefits, please read the contraindications that require advice from a GP before attending.

I will ask you to consult your doctor before joining one of my group sound baths:

  • You have epilepsy (some forms of epilepsy can be triggered by sound).
  • You get noise-triggered migraines.
  • You might be pregnant (especially during the first 12 weeks).
  • You are being treated for cancer.
  • You have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
  • You have a serious mental health issue.
  • You have carotid stenosis, a cardiac pacemaker, artificial heart valves, cardiac arrhythmias, a stent, a shunt, or a deep brain stimulation device (DBS).

If none of those apply – Great!!

So how do Sound baths actually work?

Sound bath meditation is an ancient practice designed to bring deep states of relaxation and meditation. It uses a variety of instruments, including Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, chimes, and sometimes the human voice, to create a landscape of sound that washes over you.

The instruments each may offer unique healing frequencies. Himalayan singing bowls are renowned for soothing tones that may promote relaxation and stress reduction.  Crystal bowls produce clear, high-frequency sounds that many believe cleanse and balance the chakras. Gongs add depth with powerful, reverberating sounds, while chimes bring a light, ethereal quality to the experience.

The combination of sound waves is designed to be heard but also felt physically, engaging the parasympathetic nervous system and encouraging a deep state of relaxation. This may help lower blood pressure, reduce stress hormone levels, and slow the heart rate, inviting the body to potentially heal and restore itself and enhance wellbeing.

Sound baths can be healing on many levels, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Here are just some of the believed benefits of sound baths.

On the day of attendance we recommend;

  • Before you go, drink water and have something to eat but avoid alcohol, caffeine, smoking, and heavy meals.
  •  Wear loose comfy clothing. 
  •  Take your shoes off and pop on an extra pair of socks.
  • Lie on a yoga mat and ideally a blanket as well for extra comfort and warmth. Some people find a bolster cushion under their knees a lot more comfortable than lying flat on their backs but you could also try lying on your side.

 Alternatively, sit up, but remember most sound baths last about an hour so you need to be comfortable throughout. If attending one of my sound baths, please let me know in advance that you’d prefer to sit up so that we can discuss how you might be most comfortable.

Take a pillow for under your head.

  • Water is provided but drink some as soon as the sound bath finishes and plenty more throughout the rest of the day.
  • Avoid alcohol, smoking, caffeine, heavy meals or strenuous exercise for the rest of the day.
